About Belinda
Hi, I’m Belinda Wright—the person behind Learn OSHC.
Founder and Director of Learning | OSHC Specialist | PhD Candidate | Casual Academic
Learn OSHC is a small, independent business created and led by me.
When you engage with Learn OSHC, you work directly with me. I develop the professional learning, create the resources, facilitate the coaching and bring my own experience, research and understanding of OSHC to every piece of work.
This personal approach is important to me. Learn OSHC is not a large training organisation delivering generic content across multiple sectors. It is a specialist business grounded in the distinct realities of Outside School Hours Care.

Belinda Wright
I have worked with children and young people for 26 years, including 15 years specifically within the OSHC sector.
My OSHC career began in direct practice and progressed through Educator, Coordinator, Service Manager, Regional Operations Manager and General Manager roles. Through these positions, I gained experience across service delivery, team leadership, quality improvement, compliance, workforce development, multi-site operations and organisational change.
At senior-management level, I held responsibility for large portfolios of OSHC services across New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and Victoria. This gave me insight into both the daily realities of individual services and the broader systems, structures and leadership decisions that influence quality across organisations.
I understand what it is like to work directly with children and young people, lead a service, support educators, respond to families, navigate regulatory responsibilities and make decisions across complex operational environments.
That experience continues to shape everything I create through Learn OSHC.
Learn OSHC reflects my belief that OSHC educators and leaders deserve professional learning developed specifically for their context.
School-age care has its own rhythms, relationships, responsibilities and possibilities. OSHC professionals work with mixed-age groups, short sessions, shared environments, complex transitions and children and young people who want meaningful choice, leisure, connection and agency outside the school day.
Professional learning for OSHC should begin with those realities.
Through Learn OSHC, I bring together practical sector experience, contemporary evidence, professional learning design and a deep commitment to making OSHC practice, leadership and professional knowledge more visible.
Because Learn OSHC is a small business, I can remain closely connected to the sector and the people I support. I can listen carefully, respond thoughtfully and develop work that reflects the real needs of educators, leaders, services and organisations.
My professional work now extends across OSHC practice, professional learning, university teaching and research.
I am a PhD Candidate at Griffith University, researching educational leadership in Australian Outside School Hours Care. My research is part of a broader commitment to strengthening the evidence, language and professional knowledge available to the OSHC sector.
I also teach as a Casual Academic at Australian Catholic University, contributing to the preparation of future educators through early childhood education units.
In 2026, I presented my research internationally at the GELYDA International Conference in Seoul. This provided an opportunity to bring an Australian OSHC perspective into international conversations about extended education, leadership and professional practice.
My academic background also includes postgraduate study in education, learning and leadership, and research methods. I am completing a Master of Education in Learning and Leadership and have completed graduate qualifications in Education—Learning and Leadership and Research Studies in Business.
My university teaching and research do not sit separately from Learn OSHC. They deepen the work I do through the business by helping me connect current scholarship with practical sector knowledge.
